Archives Untold: Kwasi Owusu

In our first episode of Archives Untold, we dive into the story of former Ghana Black Stars captain and striker Kwasi Owusu (November 5, 1945 - 30 March, 2020), told by his son Kwasi Owusu Jr. Owusu made 52 appearances for the Black Stars over his 9 year international football career scoring 36 goals, making him the third-leading Black Stars goal scorer to this day. Notably, he competed in many friendlies across the globe, the Africa Cup of Nations Tournaments between 1970 & 1976, as well as both the 1972 and 1976 Summer Olympic Games.

In this episode we seek to discover what Owusu was like not only as an athlete but as a man. With a look into his personal life, mentality, and memories of playing football all over the world, we can slowly pull back the layers of an often forgotten Black Stars legend.
